Philanthropy

Phi Delta Chi, a co-educational fraternity, develops student leaders to advance the pharmacy profession. The mission of Phi Delta Chi goes hand-in-hand with the mission of St. Jude, improving the lives of children through unparalleled medical care and research. In August 1995, Phi Delta Chi adopted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as its national philanthropic partner at the 60th Grand Council Meeting in Memphis.

Phi Delta Chi collegiate and alumni chapters from across the country have raised money and awareness for the hospital, most notably through the Prescription for Hope program.

In the summer of 2009, Phi Delta Chi completed its first naming opportunity for the naming of the Outpatient Pharmacy by raising over $200,000. Additionally in 2010, the Phi Delta Chi Executive Council pledged to raise $1 million towards the naming of an inpatient room with an adjoining parent room in the Patient Care Center by 2020. In 2013, Phi Delta Chi members have reached the half-way mark of their $1 million goal.

In 2016, Phi Delta Chi surpassed their $1 million goal — four years early!
